Miro - I'd like to help but I'm not using Sony Vegas. Instead I'm using iMovie '09 and have iMovie HD6 available which I have used but, frankly, I haven't even done much so far because of the lack of space and resources of my laptop. The computer has been the bottleneck up until just recently and now it's a lack of time.

One of the problems with video is the Workflow aspect. With digital pictures it's pretty easy, but with video.... well, it's a LOT more complicated as you're finding out.

"The devil is in the details." And there are lots of details!

Two things:

What are you going to do with the rendered video? (i.e., Upload it to YouTube, publish it to DVD, incorporate it into another video product)

Second. Forget .TOD

After you've copied the files from the Everio to a folder on your computer's hard drive, rename the .tod files to .mpg

Here's a little batch program that will do it for you automatically:

ren *.tod *.mpg

Copy the above text into a notepad file and save it with a .bat extension.

Then copy and paste it into the folder where all your .tod files are. Click the .bat file, and all the filetypes will change automatically.
