View Full Version : Adding a Transition That Affects Both Left and Right Clips

This seems like a no-brainer but I can't figure it out.

If I look at online tutorials, clips that are next to each other on the timeline do not have little triangles where they meet. Mine do.

With these clips, a transition can be dragged to where the clips join and the transition affects both clips.

In my window, the opposite takes place.

I can only drag my transition to the left or right, not to the middle where both clips will have the transition.

What am I missing here?

those little triangles indicate the end of the clip....(or beginning). If you put a 1 second transition between 2 clips you have to have 1/2 second of time on each end of the clips that the transition is placed on. So cut a bit off of the ends of the 2 clips you want the transition on and it will work.
