The screen will have enough resolution to display a full HD image.

So I set up the new iPad on a tripod, and used its video camera for people practicing to sing a little birthday song. First, the monitor is of course stunning. What I didn't think of was the instant feedback quality - when the video is played back on that large beautiful display the instant feedback is amazing. This is a very valuable tool, especially at this low price.

Now can anyone figure out how to use the iPad as a monitor for a professional camera?

As there is a HDMI dongle for the iPad that allows HDMI-OUT, it would seem that a software revision would allow HDMI-IN to use the iPad as a monitor.

Wishful thinking.

If there is ever a chance to get some input, it will be over WLAN.
But because of the low bandwidth, it has to be pretty compressed (and will ave some lag).

It could be possible to use the iPad's AirPlay feature if there was a dongle attached to the imaging device that would transmit the output in AirPlay format.
