You should move it to Area51 since its only a rumor.

I considered doing that, but then I saw the postings for the variable depth of field camera from Sony. If the facilitators of this form see fit, I will gladly move it if they will provide instructions on how to do it. Or they can move it if they wish.

I will do a review on my blog as soon as I got some time on my hands.

All I can say now, the FS700 is awesome. Started to save my pennies. ;-)
I had a blast, shooting with it.

The slow-mo knocked me out of my socks.
One of the 4 new cinegama curves is dammed close to my G-LOG.
The full metal handle, ND filters better grip and all is what a lot of folks wanted.
You can touch the screen and get focus on that point, or you can set two point and do automatic rack focus like on the Epic.

There is a ton of very nice features.
Wish I had more time to play with her though.

Someone finally took the shopping cart down the technology isle and picked out all the goodies. I wonder if the 4k upgrade is pricey ? either way this thing looks like impressive. Glad to see it is not a rumor, popping up on all the sony pro sites. The NEX category of the U.S. site is down this morning and I wonder if they are about to list it as well.

Hope they didn't do something stupid like restrict HDMI and SDI to 8-bit as they did with the FS100.

Pretty Cool. I wonder what the fastest frame rate is for continuous shooting? Maybe 720p120 or higher?

Hopefully Panasonic will have a model as well for a little less.

We will have a dedicated forum for the FS700. If someone locates an official Sony press release, please post the link.

Meanwhile the way to get a thread moved is to report it by clicking the little "!" icon to the left of any post in that thread.

Looks as if this text is the Sony press release, or at the very least based on it.
