Hi there,

I am trying to export a Pro Res clip from Final Cut so I can play it back on the PIX240, but for some reason PIX won't play back to clip. It doesn't seem to recognise the clip properties...

Anyone tried this? Found a way to do it? Any advise from Sound Devices?

Cheers,

Chris

At this time, PIX will not play back anything but files recorded in PIX.

It is definitely on the To Do list, but is more complicated than you might think.

I have seen PIX users play the file out of FCP over SDI from a Kona and record with it with the PIX for playback.

Hi Matt,

Thanks for your reply.. It would certainly be good to have this feature in the future... Unfortunately I don't have any means to output SDI, so have had to resort to using a KiPro...

Cheers,

Chris

Chris,

Yes, it is definitely in the plans.

ProRes files are fairly complicated. The programmers tell me there are a lot of "i"s to dot and "t"s to cross before it is a reality.

Hi Matt,

Just wondered, after 18 months, whether the ability to playback ProRes files from FCP (7 or X) has been dropped?

(Or indeed, the ability to playback any file format not recorded on the Pix)
