Hi all,
Sorry if this should be in FCX or tapeless forums, just thought here would be more specific for the Z5.
So is anyone using the MRC1k and FCX ?
Is there a way to natively edit the M2T files without converting to ProRes?
Cant believe in this day and age you would have to convert such a common format :(......

Nope, and they take ages to transcode and are huge.
Personally I use PPro CS5 and its straight in and off you go.
Good luck.

You can use Clipwrap to rewrap the files from the MRC1K for use in FCP.

ClipWrap: Easy AVCHD and HDV conversion for the Mac (http://www.divergentmedia.com/clipwrap)

I edit on PC but keep a copy for helping out my clients who want to use the footage themselves on their Macs.

Thanks for the input.
I tried Clipwrap and was not getting any audio in the rewrapped file.
Any idea why?

No idea why.
I've not had any problems with it.
Have never tried to do anything but rewrap. Never used it to transcode.

Have you asked that question about loss of audio of Clipwrap support? Seems the obvious place to start!

Didnt waste any time with Clipwrap after I found this-
Media Converter - Home (http://media-converter.sourceforge.net/)
Works really well and is completely free.
The files re wrapped are almost exactly the same size as the original M2T files and happens in seconds.
It is still one more step than
drop on timeline, cut in, cut out, burn disc though.
Fastest I can find is Sony Vegas Studio-
Drop files on timeline, cut ins, cut outs,
Make movie, Burn DVD with chapters from timeline markers.
Really thought there would be a fast (even if consumer grade ) software out there to do this.
FCX would be the fastest if it could deal with the M2T files.
