When I import from my XLH1 into Pinnacle I get one file that I can edit properly, but when I import into
Avid Studio it split the imported file into 1 video file and 2 audio files, how do I handle the 3 files when editing.

Are they left and right channel mono files? or stereo files from a 4-channel recording?
What format are the created files?
In what format was the video shot?
Does Avid Studio give options as to the capture file format?

At first blush as a generic approach (not Avid specific), if the video files do not also contain audio, and the audio are left and rightr channel sound, I would put the video on a video track, and the audio on separate audio tracks, one panned to the left and the other panned to the right.

Left and right .wav files and I believe the video is .mvt or .m2t not sure and not home, somebody mentioned the word demuxed ?

My experience is that many NLEs offer options as to the file format used for captured video. Some formats like a typical .AVI file contain both audio and video multiplexed (interleaved), and some will offer options to store the capture as separate audio (e.g., .WAV) and video (e.g., .DV or .DIF) files. Some NLEs may offer the option of storing the audio both as separate files and in the interleaved file with video. As I understand it, .MTS or .M2TS normally have the audio interleaved with the video. I am not an Avid Studio user so I cannot speak to what it does.

DEMUXing is the process of separating audio and video when they are combined.
