I'm starting to use my VG20 with my Steadicam Merlin - a great combo, especially with the pancake lens and wide and adapter, but in harsh sunlight the LCD screen is pretty useless - I really need a hood - has anyone found one that can be adapted in an 'easy on - easy off' fashion?

I made one out of a trading card box for baseball crads or Magic- The Gathering Cards. They're almost exactly the right size for the screen.

Just cut them down a bit and use some velcro or gaffers tape. You should be able to pick up single boxes at your local comic books store in plain black or $4.

I use a Hoodman - pretty easy to get on and off, and also fits my other Sony cams,
