For expatriate West Aussies and all others. - A small but ambitious project I did a small bit of helping on for a few odd days is coming to LA.

Copied below is director Deb Thoy's facebook post. Nice people they were and the food was excellent.

Their DoP was Brodie Butler. His trade has been stills imaging, fashion models for magazines, automotive for magazines and combining the two.

With the advent of motion-capable digital SLRs, he ventured into motion work, bringing his already well-honed lighting and other skills.

More recently he has worked with the RED camera family and gyro-stabilised aerial motion imaging from a helicopter.

They could have made "The Manuscript" without him but it looks all the much better for his participation. It was a labour of love for all the participants. For much of the project, a beautiful big modern mansion was made available by the owners to shoot in whilst yet they remained living there. - Such unpretentious and friendly giving folk you could ever wish to meet.

It was shot entirely on Canon digital SLRs. Audio was double-system to Zoom H4n recorder via a Sound Devices three-channel mixer through Rode NTG2 and Sennhieser 416 mikes.

Here's a little bit of a plug for Brodie Butler

Tim.

Deb Thoy has since announced another actioner is in the works which I think is going to be shot on a RED cam this time round.
