Rumors going around the web of a new 4K video-DSLR coming from Panasonic:

I was informed by a coworker that the number 4 isn't popular in Japanese. The most common way to pronounce 4 is ‘shi’, which also is how you say death. So the number 4 can be pronounced either ‘shi’ or ‘yon’. The camera might be the GH5.

Question. Will a 4K GH camera ship before the 4K Varicam?

Hardly reads like a successor to the GH2/3. More like a completely new pro camera. Interesting though. Wish Panasonic whoever would bring out some MFT long primes or even a 100-500 zoom.

Beside looks I don't think either it is a gh3 replacement, I expect this to be at least 3 times as expensive.

If it gets ND filters, focus peaking and balanced audio, I'm in.

I wonder if Panasonic will turn off the overlay displays after 10 seconds on the new camera like they do on the GH3. Then there's the record button that you have to press twice ... LOL

Not if you use the shutterbutton which is actually more convenient positioned for fast access, then you only need to press once.

I think this could cause me to sell a 5D3 if true.....

Summarily untrue and OT.
