I'm thinking of selling my VG20 and buying a VG900 because it will be so much better in low light - Currently I use a focal reducer EF - NEX adapter so I can use my Canon glass - all my lenses are for a full frame sensor. Can someone point me in the direction of an adapter for EF lenses for the VG900 but not a dumb adapter as I want the camera to talk to the lens for iris control (my EF lenses have no manual iris control)

Cheers

Pete

Here you go:

Electronic Aperture EOS NEX adapter (http://www.rjcamera.com/ocart/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=54)

Looks like it's worth a shot.

Is the vg900 better in low light than the vg20? Do you have a link?

Definitely better in low light when in full frame mode (the VG900 can switch between full and crop frame)

This is the only link I can find and compares it to the 5D (not in really low light though)

Canon EOS 5D Mark III VS Sony NEX VG900 (Recorded by Atomos Ninja 2 ) - YouTube

I have a 5DIII that I bring out when the lights go down at weddings but I find it a pig to use and unwieldy to say the least - I'm looking for an alternative that I can use with my EF lenses. The VG900 might be worth it for focus peaking alone!!!

Not sure if the VG900 will definitely be better in low light. I would have thought it was the aperture that determines how much light gets in. Would love to hear if you find it to be greatly improved.

Metabones make a 'Smart Adapter' for the VG900 - it's on their website.
