On my CobraCrane II, one of the rails has a grometted hole by the tripod mount and the end cap by the camera mount has a hole in it so that you can route the cables for LANC and A/V feed internally.

My question is, how do I pull the cable through the crane rail? I tried shoving it through and hoped gravity would be my friend here, but alas it is not enough.

TIA!

Do a product search on "Fish Tape". It's like a tape measure but longer and more rigid. It's used for what you describe.

I'd borrow rather than buy it if you can; unless you plan on wiring your house for a computer network or cable TV.

You could try dropping a string with a magnet on it (whichever magnet doesn't stick to the crane) and use another magnet to "grab" the string. I don't know, it might work.
