I'm about to make the leap to the new MacPro (with mixed feelings) but the new Mac has no Firewire connection. Has anyone used the Thunderbolt to Firewire adapter to ingest footage from an XDCAM deck (F75, etc.) using XDCAM Transfer?

Any insight (no guesses please - I have plenty) would be appreciated.
