Watched devil's due on the big screen, mainly for the night out with my mom and the wife. Deeply, i was thinking about the performance of the Ex3 and especially in the low light scenes. The movie was ok, the footage was pretty amazing. Very clean blacks in the night scenes, i wonder if that was cleaned up in post or if a specific picture style was used. Anyways, knowing the EX series is still being used for the big screen is really cool.

I had no idea it was being used. That's pretty cool. Victory for the little guys.

From Slashfilm

Matt Bettinelli-Olpin: We all know operating, we all know the camera really well. One of the biggest decisions we made very early on, which dramatically influenced our shooting style, was the type of camera we shot on. We used a Sony EX3, which is one of the few 3-chip cameras that really holds up to projection. We can’t say enough about how cool the EX3 is. We could do some crazy things with it without having to build elaborate camera rigs, and engineer these crazy things that you’d need with a larger camera build.
