View Full Version : Robust codec as alternative to cineform...but not prores

Again with the gopro workflow! Cineform codec keeps crashing my pc, and still no easy way apart to ingest prores/export from pc in say Adobe or Vegas.

Looking for a better quality codec equivalent to prores that will tolerate applying a LUT (finally exported protune and other lut's from firstlight), and that renders a bit faster. Applying lut's to native .mp4 files from the gopro doesn't seem the way to go...it works in media encoder, but painfully slow even on a dual xeon system.

Any ideas? Sony's MXF format, or DNxHD? Or a lossless format? Would prefer to do it directly in media encoder and just batch everything, however premiere seems to be a lot faster when sent to render qeue...

The gopro studio software is just too buggy at this point and critically doesn't allow batch exports after grading...at least the trial pro version doesn't.
