Hola,

maybe you guys could help me in my choice. I'm trying to find a solution for me under the 1100$ as i was thinking to buy the d7100 (i used for a couple of projects and impressed me a lot) or another nikon that could use the lenses from my d90. I was in doubt if to go with Panasonic GH4 or new Sony even if right now i don't need the 4k stuff but full 1080. 2 days ago came out the Blackmagicpdc for half price and i had more doubts if going in that direction and buying the adapter for that lenses.
I use mainly for documentaries.
What are your suggestions guys?
Do you thin a new nikon is coming out after the d7100 in that range of price?
Should i go for d5200? Blackmagic or Pana or Sony for the performances?
Many thx for your help guys

Hi Marcus

If you want to stay with a DSLR then it makes good sense to use something where your D90 lenses become available so probably a 7100 or even a 5100 would be good enough??

I use all my D90 lenses on my Sony EA-50's and it increases my scope a lot but you don't want to spend all that money.

Why not forget about the Nikon and use it just for stills and grab a new Panasonic FZ1000 ?? Under $1K and it not only has a zoom from wide to 400mm but it also has darn good autofocus in video mode and can do 4K as well so you get the best of both worlds!! It's fixed lens but with such a huge range it's all you need.

I really want a D750, just because.

But, at these new prices, I think I'm going to get a D7100 now.

I've had the d7100 since last July and have loved it.

You'd be really happy with that.

The d5300 is the other consideration.

The body itself isn't as nice and you don't have as many bells and whistles, but you do get full 1080p 60fps and a really nice tilt screen.

Thinking about d7100....

What are your most favourite - versatile lenses?

The 17-55 F2.8 is my workhorse lens.

Then 70-200 VR2 F2.8 I use second most.

Third is the Tokina 11-16 F2.8 for UWA.

I want to get a macro lens, and will probably get the Tokina 100mm F2.8 since it's only like $400 or so.

With all these price drops on Nikon camera bodies in the past 2 weeks... it's a fantastic time to go that route. The current round of deals ends this weekend and I'm guessing that maybe we'll see another $50-$100 off next week on DX DSLRs. Pure speculation, but I'd love to see it.

Might pick up a D5300 as a spare creative video camera if that's the case.

Now that d5500 announced and the d7200 is about to come out....Will we see a crash of the prices for D7100 and d5300?
