I have finished a major part of my current feature - which was in stereo 3d. This will serve as a comparison of workflows for editing stereo 3d footage in osx.

The major editing suites are FCP7, FCPX and CS6.

GoPro Studio Pro for 999/-

For FCP7, one would need Dashwood Stereo 3D Toolbox LE. 99/-

For PPro - Vision3 plugin - Vision III | QuickS3D Plug In (http://www.inv3.com/quicks3d)

I am using Sony HMD HMZ-T2 as an output device to preview the 3d image.

I would welcome commentary regarding usage with FCP and Adobe products.

On OSX, the vast majority of plugins support these products - so lets keep the options for these products only.

My plugins work in FCP7, FCP X, Premiere Pro CC & CC2014, AE CS3 through CC2014. The full version of Stereo3D Toolbox (http://www.dashwood3d.com/stereo3dtoolbox.php) is currently priced at $799. The Sony HMDs support side by side or over/under inputs, which Stereo3D Toolbox can output as you work.
I've been working on a new version as well as some other Stereo3D tools, but they probably won't be released until Yosemite is out and fully tested in all apps. If you are interested just let me know and I can ask Noise Industries to provide you with a dvinfo discount.

You also have Stereoid from Pretend LLC. The program has a very strong match feature which I haven't seen in other programs. Of course, the least expensive option in using Sony Vegas Pro with a copy of Parallels. You will be able to use StereoPhotoMaker as well as a bonus.
