Hi again,

Just one more thought... The producer suggested the 24p created "better quality video"? I countered that it only made the video look more "film" like. Does it indeed increase the playback "quality" of the video or is it only an aesthetic difference?

Thanks yet again.

Stephanie

I think it's only an aesthetic difference.

I think a progressive image looks much better than interlaced, if shot correctly. But having decided to shoot my last project in 24p, I wish now I had started with a 30p setting. There are definitely differences between p and i in how the image comes out, and you will not notice some of it until post. Since you seem committed to 24p, pan SLOWLY. And when you think you are panning slowly, slow down twice as much again. Shoot from a tripod as much as possible. Some of my first 24p handheld stuff was barely passable, and I would have reshot some of it if I could. I can't imagine doing it live without experimenting first...

What I am doing now is shooting 60i, but with the gamma settings used in F5. Seems like a decent compromise for me right now. You will be fine posting in the DVX forum, probably better than here for these things. Even though not much activity, many people watch it for new threads, and everyone that does so is interested.

And you know about DVXuser.com, right ???
