Officials at Blackmagic have announed the release of Firmware version 1.9.7 which adds in camera formatting for the original Cinema Cameras and the Pocket Cinema Camera.

Tried installing this firmware (Windows version) on my Win 8.1 laptop after first removing the previous version and it won't install. And it's screwed up the laptop. Won't shutdown now without pressing the power button until it finally shuts down. Anyone else had this happen?

Never had firmware install problems on my Mac Pro.

was not a problem with firmware ... did some corrective work relating to laptop/windows and firmware installed and other problems also went away. False alarm
