Hi not sure if I am in the right area but hear goes.I recently purchase the Sony HXR-NX3 Video camera which does not come with the shotgun microphone in Australia, what I need to know is they recommend the Sony ECM-VG1 microphone for the camera, I have the Rode NTG3 microphone would this do the job or is it not suited to be used on camera, or should I purchase the ECM-VG1. I Also have a couple of Rode Videomic Pro microphones can some please point me in the right direction in regards to which way to go

The Rode NTG3 is a great microphone and will work fine with the HXR-NX3, it is a much better microphone than the ECM-VG1.

I'm using the RODE NTG2 and the quality/price is excelent.
