Hello,

I would like to find out the steps to be able to send video clips 2 minutes or so in max to cell phones. What are the steps to have people be able to either download or purchuse them and be able to view them on their phones or any other device?

Thank you,

Matt

At least for now, I think this is a proprietary closed loop feature with service providers that offer it. I too am very interested in the ability to distribute video content to wireless devices. I was just talking with Verizon today about their V Cast service. Each carrier will probably have their own name for the same service. This service is $15 per month and allows subscribers to view pre-produced, high quality news, music video, weather, sports, etc. video packages on your V Cast capable phone. I would think that they are going to keep the network closed to ensure that they are the only ones that can make the revenues from sending content. Of course, all it's going to take is for one carrier to break that barrier allowing outside providers/individuals to provide content and they'll all have to follow to be competitive.

As far as sending outside video from user to user, that might be possible since you can already send and receive camera generated MPEG 4 video via camera phones. So, I don't see why you couldn't just create a small 15 fps, required resolution, MPEG 4 video created in stand alone software and send it to a user/users phone(s). If you have multiple subscribers just send it BCC:.
