So I have a client that suddenly wants full 1080 HD files in Pro Res 422 instead of my typical H264 for broadcast. As a windows Premiere Pro 6 user I do not have this option for export. I tried a few trial converters last night but they appear to desaturated the color and lower the quality.

Anybody got any affordable options???

I'm not a Windows user but I've been told by one who is that he's used FFMpeg (free?) successfully before now to encode to ProRes.

Thanks Dave, ya know i tried to download that last night but it required an unusual program to extract the Zip. I will try again tonight. Thanks much!

You probably tried the Binary, you need to 'Compile' it, can be confusing / difficult.

Try this link for a 'build' version with install instructions:

How to get the latest FFmpeg binary for Windows | reneVolution (http://www.renevolution.com/how-to-get-ffmpeg-for-windows/)

You might find it helps to have a 'front end' GUI for FFMpeg, try this (free):

http://www.avanti.arrozcru.org/

Or look for a 'GUI' for FFMpeg on Google.
