I've just finished a 3 minute video and I want to be able to post it for streaming download. What's the best way to go about doing that? I have FCP 5 and Compressor. I'm just not sure what compression settings to use.

Thanks,
Todd

for web, i export using quicktime component, and export to the following settings:

- mpeg4, best quality, limit to 1000kbps
- aac audio, 48khz, 128kbps (you can go lower if audio is not important)

you can compress a good 4 minutes into 24 megs. h264 will give you better compression but i am waiting on that until the majority of web surfers have quicktime 7.

hope this helps.

Sorry... I meant to start this as a new thread, not put it here.

"Wondering if anyone can give me some advice on the best compression for a 100 minute video that was shot on miniDV to put on DVD. I am exporting the edited sequence from FCP 5.0 and I will be using DVD Studio Pro.
What is considered better for this, using Compressor or Quicktime?
And then what would be the best settings.

Thanks in advance for any help..."

Jay,
My experience, though limited, is to export using compressor. As for settings? I would start with Best Quality DVD and go from there.

Good Luck
