I have a couple of questions.

I see that the Samsung EVO PRO SSDs have been approved.
Do the standard EVO drives work? Or just the pros? In my research (which was limited) the main difference I found between the two was that one had a longer life than the other.

I also own a Sony FS7. Is the only uncompressed option for 4K RAW?

Do I need to purchase anything from Sony to be able to record 4K RAW?

Just trying to figure out if this will be useful for me.

We support one and only one Samsung 850 Evo (non-Pro), the 1000 GB (also called 1 TB) model.

We support the following Samsung 850 Evo Pro models:

128 GB
256 GB
512 GB
1 TB

There are technical reasons why we support these specific Samsung SSD's.

Please note that you will also need one of our SSD handles for each Samsung SSD.

For the FS7, (with the XDCA Expansion Unit), for 4K Raw,
if you have our Raw Bundle, which is an extra cost option,
after you select FS7 as the camera,
and then select FS Raw to Raw,
we will record full uncompressed 4K Raw, in CinemaDNG file format.

Or you have the option to record from the 4K Raw output of the FS7 (with the XDCA Expansion Unit):

4K Apple ProRes 422 (in HQ, 422 and LT) up to 60 fps
Ultra-HD Apple ProRes 422 (in HQ, 422 and LT) up to 60 fps
2K Apple ProRes 422 (in HQ, 422 and LT) using Super Sampling Techniques up to 60 fps
HD Apple ProRes 422 (in HQ, 422 and LT) using Super Sampling Techniques up to 60 fps

And when the FS7 is outputting 2K Raw, up to 240 fps, we support many more modes, provided you have our Raw Bundle.

The following recording options do not require our extra cost Raw Bundle, as the camera outputs Video in this mode.

If you do not have the XDCA Expansion Unit (or do not have our Raw Bundle), then
you can record 4K and Ultra-HD via the HDMI output of the camera (which is video and not Raw).

In this case, we will record 4K or Ultra-HD in Apple ProRes 422 (HQ, 422 or LT).

The FS7 outputs 4K video via HDMI up to 24 frames per second and
Ultra-HD via HDMI up to 30 frames per second.
