Jigger Creek is located in the Cohutta Wilderness Area near Cisco, Georgia. I planned my visit for overcast conditions after a heavy rainstorm. This is an area where at age sixteen I attended “Operation Upstream” a four week wilderness survival training course in 1968.

This video was shot using a Panasonic GH4 camera, set at 1080p 60fps and recording at 200mbps. Lenses used were the Panasonic 14-45, 45-175, and Olympus 60mm macro as well as 75-300. Other equipment used was a Benro S-6 tripod, Tascam DR-40 audio recorder, and Rhino Slider V1 carbon. Edited with Edius 5.51. For best quality viewing select the HD button and 1080p.

Far too green for my idea of wilderness, but lovely work once again.

There were two very similar shots of the waterfall right near the end, the second with a lower shutter speed that I thought might have been better separated by a few more shots in between, but it is a very minor thing.

Very nice shots there Mark, that Olympus 60mm makes some beautiful macro images, was thinking of getting myself that lens as prices gone down on it, there is still a whole world to explore for me that almost can't be seen with the naked eye.

Thanks Noa. The Oly 60mm macro is a super fine lens. I waited until it went on sale to buy mine but in retrospect it is a pretty solid lens so I would consider buying used. It takes a little getting used to because of the dial on the side to get closer focus but I really like the results. I tend to shoot the macro stuff in 4k and downsize to 1080p. It really makes a difference.

Really lovely Mark,
Thanks for sharing. I'm now wondering if you could maybe use the variable frame rate to ramp the shot from a normal speed to one with a lower shutter?? Would be pretty cool if it could be done!
Regards,
Bryce
