I'm looking into this combo too, but they have to have the 4K HFR function working before I consider it. Keep in mind the Inferno has no internal downscaler so you'll need to hook the output up to a AJA Downscaler (but first through a Teranex Mini 12G SDI to Quad SDI, but the unit should support HFR passthrough where the Odyssey cannot) David Banner December 18th, 2016, 05:42 PM Thank you much, Jack, I wasn't fully aware of the downscaling issue. The FS7 uses the exact same sensor and 12bit raw sensor data protocol. The FS7 has, of course, a different body and internal h.264 CODEC. But if you are taking the 12bit raw sensor data off both and recording this to 10bit video?...same exact image quality. It is the one feature the Convergent Design Odyssey7Q+ has which I wish the Atomos recorders also had. |
