I see that CVP, in the UK, has discontinued the Sony FDR X3000.
Does this mean there is a replacement coming? Or is it being dropped by Sony?

It just came out last summer. This camera should be enjoying plenty of success due to its image stabilizing being the best out there in this form factor. The B.O.S.S. is just incredible. B&H and Amazon still show inventory and the Sony site makes no mention of being discontinued (though sometimes those manufacturer sites lag behind).

I was in Thailand not too long ago and there's been an explosion of copy-cat action cameras. That would hurt sales of the GoPro I think, more than this X3000.

Maybe the easiest thing would be to ask your dealer there why they discontinued it.

I sure as hell hope not. I love mine and I have only had it a month or so. I think there is a misunderstanding here.

Hi All:

I think this is another example of FAKE NEWS....

Thanks,

Did they say the camera was discontinued or the SKU was discontinued?

I've been watching prices since it was released expecting them to drop. Never have. When I saw this thread I did a bit of looking around. At least in continental Europe there is package I hadn't seen before. It seems to include everything that was in the remote package plus the finger mount and I think a few other minor additions. It also seems to be cheaper then just the package with the remote.

I couldn't find it on Amazon.uk but it's on amazon.it and amazon.de

OTOH the thing seems to be on back order for ever.
