Did I really write an article about shoes? And... socks?

Why, yes... yes, I did.

"At a four-day endurance match with the pedestrian brutality that constitutes NAB, the key word is comfort. If by chance you don’t already own a pair of shoes that you consider to be ultra-comfortable, then I have some suggestions to offer..."

A lot of truth in there. I buy a new pair of sneakers a month before NAB and break them in. Can't have enough cushy socks, though. Problem is, I'm flying to NAB directly from a shoot in DC, and my luggage is quite limited.

See you there! Doing the Peppermill this year?

Yes, the shoes are an absolute must.

I love the idea of two pairs, but simply don't have the room what with the airlines charging big fees for bags.

I am thinking about some padded runners socks this year too.

Anyone try these before?

I try to do NAB with *one* checked bag. It's not easy.

It's gotta hold that second pair of shoes, nine or ten changes of clothes and the dopp kit.

I use a large roller that's definitely too big to carry on, but it's not unmanageable either.

And one thing I've found is that t-shirts and the like tend to take up less room when they're rolled up as opposed to folded. No idea why that is.

It's the desert in April, so I pack lightweight shirts and pants. Heavy cotton takes up a lot more room than the same size garment in microfiber. I leave the cotton stuff at home and take microfiber whenever possible. It's much more comfortable and takes up much less room in the suitcase.

I've been in that situation before. The trick is to FedEx the extra luggage from home to Vegas. Time it so that shipping by ground carrier puts it there the day before you arrive.
