Anyone know how to force the X70 back to LCD mode after pulling out, then pushing the EVF back into the camera? I have to close the LCD panel and restart the camera before the EVF turns off and the LCD can be used again. Using the EVF is simple, pull it out, and I use the EVF...it's just switching back that I don't know how to accomplish.

Simple, push the viewfinder back in all the way. Unfortunately both cannot be active at the same time.

Yeah, the pushing the EVF back into the camera does not deactivate the EVF, nor does it turn the LCD back on for me. I have to flop the LCD back open then shut it, and open it again, rebooting the camera in the process, to regain the LCD. It is possible to push the EVF in and close the LCD and the camera will stay on draining the battery if I am not careful. Why is there a sensor on the EVF, maybe it's not registering correctly or something?

That's odd, it should just switch off when you push the EVF in fully

" Why is there a sensor on the EVF?" The sensor switches off and on the LCD depending on how close your eye is to the viewfinder.

So I shoot at night, and apparently, that stupid sensor was messing with things. After closing the EVF and opening the LCD, I have to wave my hand across the sensor a bit until it doesn't think the blackness of night is still an eyeball!
