Hi, Can anyone help me determine camera or mic. at fault
Did a school concert the other night (all instrumental) and everything went as usual.. Sound bars performing normally.
When I got to editing I have sharp spikes on one audio channel.
I did nothing I havn't done before with hands-off most of the time.
How can I find out if it's camera or mic.(NTG 1)
Any help appreciated.
Thanks, Mike

Michael, a litle bit more information needed. I'm not familiar with your camera.
Were you using tthe onboard mic?
Were you using XLR's and how many mics?
Hard wired or radio mics?
Are the spikes regular or intermttent?
Can you reproduce the fault?

Let us know your set up.

How did the headphones sound while monitoring the shoot?

Thanks

How loud was it in the room - just singers, or lots of amplification?

Battery or A/C powered?

Can you post a short sample of the sound so we can see/hear it?

Can you hear the noise with headphones during camcorder playback, or is it only in the captured video?

Hi Guys,
sorry for the late response to your messages.
I,ve found it!
Tried new cable(s)- no change.
Tried the other XLR input and that's cured it. Looks like it's the camera socket. I'll need to get it serviced-agh!
Thanks again, Mike

Hi, sorry for the late response, I found it on this site a couple of years ago when I had the handle replaced. I can't find it now but it was the UK base. Michael.
