I am going to use the tripod for video only not pictures with an O'conner 1030D head and everything from a DSLR bare to fully rigged and FS7 bare and fully rigged.

Which one do you guys recommend?

Thanks,
Alex

I have a pair of the two-stage Millers, so I'm biased. But it looks like the RRS has a 3/8" screw mount for the head and not a bowl design. The bowl makes setting up and leveling the head so much faster and easier that I would never want to be without it on a future tripod. You can get leveling adapters, but they add weight, height and extra knobs to the system, and usually don't adjust over as wide a range of angles as a true bowl mount.

Thanks for the reply! For the RRS tripod the apex comes out with the use of an Allen key and a 100 bowl can be inserted.

Ah, thanks, useful to know. The listing for the RRS sticks on the B&H site didn't mention that feature.

The adapter is the TA-4-VB: Versa Series 4 video bowl
