I put this on the Facebook Sony HXR-NX3 but had no replies, can anyone tell me the output of the HDMI port on the NX3 when shooting in 50P does it pull the image down from 50 progressive to 50 interlaced when out putting to external reciever, through the output of the HDMI port

Page 72 in the manual. 50P output is progressive for 24, 25 or 30 it is interlaced or progressive with pulldown conversion. You can get the manual here https://www.sony.co.uk/pro/support/operation-manual/1237492860348

Thanks, at the bottom of page 72 is says"When the frame rate in [ REC FORMAT] is set to 24p or 30p (NTSC model) or 25p (PAL model), the output signal is converted to interlace or progressive through pull-down conversion."
I am recording in 50P PAL mode. This is what I am not sure of 25P is converted to interlaced is 50P as well? How can I check what is coming out.

I think if you are recording 50P it is coming out at 50P. Feed to a TV or monitor all mine will identify the input signal.

Earlier Blackmagic ATEM hardware needs interlaced signals all conformed to the same format (60i in our case), so while we have the cameras set to roll ISO to their own media cards in native progressive 1080 30p, we feed 60i out the HDMI port for the switcher. Fortunately, this camera allows for the camera to be configured in such a fashion. If we had a newer model ATEM, which allows for progressive inputs at 1080 resolution, we would switch the cameras to progressive output.
