hi guys i did a back up on my desktop to install windows 7 64 bit pro version backed everything up but forgot to save a project i need to work on slightly, i have all the media cache files and all video files . How do i create a new cs6 project then link all the media cache and video files.

You need the original project file or auto save to link the media.
Media cache at this point is of no use.

ah well i have to create a new project and start again, i have all the media cache and files can or will it not create itself in the new project

why has the back up saved some projects but not other?? shucks

You need to look at: EDIT> PREFERENCES> AUTO SAVE and see how you have it set up.

Dont trust auto save as your only back up.
Make a habit of doing a 'Save a Copy...' to another drive.

Sorted it thanks everyone for some reason when i backed up to three external hard drives it latched onto the files of a current film i had finished? weird but the project was hidden not in auto saves but another clients folder so all good.
