I worked a wedding with a pretty good band. Not high end, but younger guys trying their best & putting their all into it. The reception floor was lively, and they seemed to sorta having a turning point night where they stepped it up a notch.

I wanted to give them a shout as a preferred vendor, and maybe send them a link to the highlights, but I didn't catch their name or ask for cards at the end of the night. The female singer did mention their name, but I can't quite make it out. My hearing a bit bad over the years, I was wondering if anyone here can do me a favor & make out either the band name or website she mentions? Its only about a 15 second clip.

Thanks in advance, if no one can get it I suppose I can reach out to the bride, just wasn't sure a proper way to word that.

It's not your ears, it's the accent the woman is using and how quickly she is tripping through her syllables. I have no idea what the web address is, and the band could be either "Owl music" or "L music".

pressplaytalent.com? Website says they do weddings.... don't see anything resembling "L music" or anything close.... and that's what I heard too...

Kind of looks like it might be a loose association of musicians that come together for events and such, so if nothing else, maybe they might be able to fill in the blanks if you contact them?

You often get a band that are just a group of friends that just enjoy music. In this instance best to phone the bride.

Hey thanks alot, its a lead at least. I was hearing 'Best Event Talent.com' or something, and yeah either L Music or O Music. Not seeing them on the site or FB. The couple was down from NYC which is where the site/band looks based from their FB posts, myb the recruit talent when they're on the road or outsource it like video chains do.

If there's a NY connection, I think we found you a site to start from.... my guess is that they assemble bands from a group of musicians, on a gig by gig basis. Interesting business model, if that's the case.

Yeah, they walked in looking like a rag tag bunch, but they were fun & got the dance floor going, interacting well with the guests. It was a Sunday night too, which tends to be harder to get the dance floor going.

Per Andrews post, it looks like they are a pretty established band. I agree tho, the hired guns part of the bands is an interesting model. One time I asked a guitarist about tapping into to the board and he said he had no idea, he was just hired for the day & didn't even know anyone in the band? Well, I think he was friends with someone in it. Still, I guess they just get an email of songlist & show up expected to know the songs. I'm sure with that many people in some bands now & then a member can't make it, so they hire fill ins.
