Curious if anyone has experience with this apsc lens? I have a sony a7rii and was planning to use it for video on that camera before deciding to get a refurbished LS300.

It would cover a really nice zoom range if it worked.

thanks. Great forum here.

I am assuming you mean the 18-105 F4 OSS as there is no 10-105 F4.
If I am correct, I use this lens all the time on my Sony FS700, Sony VG20
and Sony A6000.
I did a blog entry on this lens for shooting video awhile ago:

Digital cinema in the last frontier: Sony 18-105.....The Baby Sea Monster (http://alaskacameradude.blogspot.com/2015/04/sony-18-105the-baby-sea-monster.html)

However, I do NOT think it will work with the LS300. As I understand it, the LS300
has a Super 35 sensor, but a MFT mount. The 18-105 uses the Sony eMount.
MFT and eMount are sort of similar in that they both have a shallow flange.
But eMount is slightly shallower (18mm to the 19.24mm of MFT.)
Which means there isn't a way to adapt a eMount lens to a MFT mount as far as
I'm aware. You can 'add' a little distance with an adapter, but not 'take away'
distance. So this lens can't be used on a LS300.

Gabe, thank you for the correction. And taking time to give me feedback on the lens. I'll read your previous posts.

I'm wondering how it would work with an adapter for M43.

thanks again.

I believe Gabe is correct that Sony E-mount lens' aren't adaptable to MFT mounts.

If you try searching online for an E-mount to MFT mount adapter you won't be able to find one. At least that's what I recall when I search 6 months ago :) I do believe it's possible to go the other direction... e.g. MFT mount to E-mount adapter so an MFT lens can be used on a Sony camera.

This video demonstrates all of the capabilities of this lens: resolution, near parfocal vari-speed smooth power zooming, and great AF (at least on the A6500). The best lens for 4K run and gun shooting of events with movement.
