I have one of the Came TV gimbals with a wireless video transmitter “5.8G HDMI to AV transmitter module” built into it.

I want to mount a small monitor on my rig bit I’ve never set up a wireless system before and am not sure how to go about this. I’m aware of the very expensive built to purpose solutions, the DIY solutions built with consumers wireless HDMI kits and the FPV drone monitors with the receiver built in and the funky mushroom antenna.

The professional solutions are expensive and over kill just for mounting a monitor a few feet away I think.

The drone monitors are listed as having 30 – 40CH and 5.8G. They are cheap, most around £40-£50 but look like really low quality screens and though I don’t need high resolution these are really low, 480 x 272p and worse.

The consumer wireless HDMI kits like Nyrius Aries Prime comes in at around £200 but will the receivers in these kits and the transmitter in the gimbal talk to each other? can you mix and match like that?

Any help and advise appreciated.
