Here's the link, https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1292140-REG/nikon_af_s_nikkor_70_200mm_f_2_8e.html/BI/2855/KBID/3801

I watched a few videos on it, and I'm in the market for a 70-200 but that extra 800 is a bunch. Anyone purchase the newest 'mortgage payment' from Nikon?

No - I'm still shooting with the original 70-200 f2.8 VRI, which meets my needs. One of the "features" of the latest version that makes it less desirable for me is that it is the only Nikon f2.8 zoom that reverses the position of the focus and zoom rings from the other lenses. I regularly shoot with both the 24-70 f2.8 and 70-200 f2.8. and prefer the user interface to be the same.

I use a VR2. Don't see a need to upgrade personally.

I bought the original VR1 version in 2004 and have taken over 21K images with it. It is my most used lens. Since I now shoot with the D850 I just got the new 70-200 f2.8E lens. While the old lens produced very nice shots on the D850, the new one is noticeably crisper at all focal lengths. Initially I kept grabbing the focus ring rather than the zoom, but I now hold the lens with the lens foot in my support hand such that my fingers only come in contact with the zoom ring.
