I am getting ready to sell my LS300 due to a changing business structure, and was wondering if anyone knows if the 3 year warranty that I received is transferable? TIA.

I don’t know off hand obviously jvc would be the definive source for this answer. Every manufacturer has their own policies but most don’t allow transfer (I believe canon being one). You could always offer to handle any warranty issues but you probably don’t want to be saddled with that.

I've forwarded this question to my contacts at JVC.

Thank you Pete and Chris. I did email JVC Pro Support also, and I am waiting on an answer.

The important factor is that the camcorder's purchase is registered for the extended warranty within the 30 day time period. From that point forward, the serial number of the camcorder will be registered for the extended warranty coverage in the JVC Professional data base.

Should a camcorder or any professional product be brought in to our service facility in Long Beach, CA the first thing checked is the serial number for its registration in our system to see 1) if it is a product that was sold in the US and authorized territories, and 2) what is the warranty coverage applicable to the unit.

I hope this information is of help to everyone.

Hi Craig, thank you very much. The camera was purchased from from B&H on 03/06/16, and was registered within the 30 day period.

Serial #GY-LS300CHU 11040521.

Is the camera under warranty until March of next year, and may I transfer the balance of the warranty to the new owner?

Thanks again.

I bought the LS300 off Ebay and when I got it I noticed what looks like dirt in the sensor housing. I was able to return to JVC because the original buyer had the original receipt and they fixed it free of charge and sent it back to me.
