Have a consumer hdmi camera, light, mic and computer.
Need to be able to teach by speaking audio and "writing on the screen".
Final product is a video with PIP of person explaining.
Any suggestions?

Have iMac with 8GB RAM , 3.2Ghz i5, GeForce GT 755M 1024MB, OS 10.10.5

This video was done with a touchscreen machine that allows you to write on it (like a Microsoft Surface) that has screen capture software running.

Thank you Gary.
Is that possibly all they used?
Do you know if MS Surface can take audio in from a Mic?
I know pretty much nothing about these type devices

Would something like this thinkpad be able to do it, running screen recording software ?

As Gary said, the graphics were done on a touch screen. I'm not familiar with Macs, but presumably you could use your existing Mac with a simple graphics tablet and capturing software.

The audio and PIP could be added once the screen capture is imported into the video editing programme. The audio could either be recorded into the video editor, or to the camera and inserted as appropriate into the editor.

Thank you both
Apparently many consumer tablets are very limited in the screen recording software that can be installed.
So something like the Lenovo has a pen which can be used directly on the screen and also would allow Camtasia to be installed.

They want to have the person seen on camera working the problems at a table like taking a test, not sitting a computer like a traditional web cam angle.
So this probably either means plugging in a web cam and moving it away some, or using a video camera and editing in the PIP later.

Have not used them, but there are several apps that allow you to use an iPad as a graphics tablet and second screen on the Mac.
