Greetings, fellow filmographers! I decided last year that I rather fancied the HC-X1. Just about ready to take the plunge and whats this?? I see the AG UX180 available for sale slightly CHEAPER than its pro-sumer brother.

Now, although I dont necessarilly NEED HD SDI, is there any reason why I SHOULDN'T now purchase the UX 180, given that they are effectively the same camera?

Best wishes and more power to your lenses, guys.

I haven't been able to find anybody, or anything online, that tells me that the HC-X1 is any better than the FZ2500. Apparently same lens, same 1" sensor etc. Only difference is the lack of 50p in 4k.

I own the ux180 and the ux90. I think the ux90 is the better value. Same image quality although it has less features that might not be important to you.

Thank you Peter.
Indeed. The UX 90 is only 15x zoom and has less options than the 180 when it comes to frame rates etc...I'm more concerned witb quality and options rather than value. Manybthanks for your input.

Both are good cameras. I have the UX180 (also DVX200 and GH5). If you can afford it, go with the UX180. All it takes is one job where you need SDI, the longer reach of the 20X lens, or other pro features - and you'll be kicking yourself for not spending the extra money if you're like me. YMMV; it really depends on your needs.
