I have a somewhat lengthy bit of text and I wish to use scrolling text.
Thus far it is only showing about a 1/4 of the text in the timeline, though all the text appears in the control window.
I am stumped.
Any help?
Thanks

Could you please be more specific Gary? Is the text scrolling through 1/4 of what you have in the control window or is FCP displaying 1/4 of your text and not scrolling? It's more than likely that you bumped a setting here or there. The easiest thing to do might be to copy all the text and paste it into a new scrolling text generator.

Unfortunately, I have not been able to figure out how to paste.
The problem is one of not dsiplaying all text in the control box.
The scrolling feature works fine.
I did reference the manual to see about copy and pasting in text feature but had no luck.

Is it displaying only 1/4 of your text horizontally? FCP's text generators are a little annoying and have no option for adding margins. If you don't put in line breaks then it will just cut off your text. So try adjusting or adding line breaks, and perhaps try changing the origin. For example, if you have left justified text and leave the default origin then FCP will start your text in the middle of the screen and work right. To avoid cutting off the right side you have to move the origin to the left.

If neither of those work then you always have the option of making a sequence with a custom resolution (one with a huge vertical resolution), making a non-scrolling text generator in there then scrolling that sequence through your main sequence. This is cumbersome but it allows you to do things like add graphics that scroll at the same rate as the text. I just did this for a project a week ago.

Do either of those suggestions help?
