This is probably no surprise to some of you (i.e. native New Yorkers looking for freelance work), but hopefully it's fun for the rest.

See, this section is supposed to simply be a place for potential employers to post gigs, and yet, look how many non-gig posts there are! Fun fun fun! It's a rollercoaster ride that'll have you glued to the edge of your seat. It's like this EVERY DAY, too! Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Like everything else in New York, it needs serious industrial strength moderating. Without that, you get a cesspool.

There are much better venues for finding jobs and networking in New York, but they are not as easily accessible as Craig's list for good reason.

A cesspool of fun!

Come on. . .you're on the inside. . .is there really an "re guy"? Is there really a secret criminal being investigated by IATSE and the FBI?

Sounds like you may have a "based on real events" idea in the making. It's even funnier when you realize people actually talk like that in person, usually by yelling at each other across courtyards in their apartment complexes. Gotta love New York.

What kills me are the ads for shooting locations that ask for
a. your address
b. your telephone #
c. pictures of your house

That way, not only can they assess if your house is worth robbing, they can call you first, to see if your home. And all you've got to give the police is some anonymous Craig's list e-mail address.

Yeah. . .maybe. Good times, good times.
