Hi,
I own this (below) unopened 3 piece filter set. Would this be worthy to be on my GL2? Or should I sell it on eBay and use the $ to put towards a different filter? Thanks for all your opinions!

(Sorry it might take a little time for the pics to load, especially if you don't have cabel/DSL. I didn't compress them any more once they came off my GL2.)

Sorry, they're not worth anything and I wouldn't put those on in front of the great Canon glass on the GL2. They will only degrade the image quality.

Sorry, but I have to agree with Jeff. They may seem fine to casual inspection but I can almost guarantee that they're full of tiny aberrations that will ultimately degrade your footage.

If you're going to use filters stick with the best (ex: Schneider, Heliopan, B+W, et.al.). They're expensive for reasons beyond profit.

Take it from me, I made the mistake of buying this same stuff you're considering. DON'T DO IT!!!!!

Both the UV and the Warming filter are not too clear, and the Polarizing filter is HORRIBLE! If you slap on the polarization filter and then zoom into something all the way, you will notice color distortions and focus problems that do not go away.

Avoid these at all costs!

You may want to try them first. If they're cr_p, just throw them away. But if you don't have at least a good UV, you moght as well use this UV, to protect your lens. Even if it's not the best UV, so what. At least your GL2 lens will be protected.

Thanks for all your help. I decided not to take the chance and ordered a nice $35 B+W brand filter off B&H. Thanks to all.

Personally I use them and I can't tell the difference in footage between using the UV filter and using nothing. I guess I don't have the trained eye that other people have.

But you have 4 eyes, like me, right? This gives you wisdom and foresight.

I don't know if contact lenses technically count as four eyes, but if so then sure.

How about Tiffen? Are their GL2 (58mm) filters made well?

Unfortunately, I only have two eyes with which to judge. That may change if I keep missing exits on the interstate.
