Hi all,

I'm using a Canon Optura 20 camcorder to film some special features for my short film. I captured the footage just fine. In the preview window it looks great. However when I add my in and out points to the footage and add it to the sequence (by the way I'm using FCP 5.0.4), I get MAJOR interlacing lines. Check out this screen grab of what I'm talking about.

I'm pretty new to FCP so I have no idea what's going on. Any help on this?

I guess you're monitoring on a computer monitor?

In case, don't worry.

Do a test-out to DVD and check the result on a TV. You'll probably be fine.

Is your canvas set to 100% zoom? That will show you the interlacing lines but again you should be fine that just happens when viewing interlaced footage on your progressive computer screen. You can play the video out through your camera to a TV to check it there.

Is your sequence set to DV-NTSC?
