Does anyone know of a decent microphone for voice-overs and where to get on online.

I am running Final Cut Studio on a G5

there are a number of "decent" microphones, but each voice and each mic are unique so what works for me might not work for you. there are also a number of places to purchase, try clicking on the B&H ad in the upper right of this screen(I'm sure the ads rotate so it might not be there at the moment you look) best to support those who support the forum.

You could also save yourself the trouble and hire a professional voice over talent.

This one is an industry standard. You should get good results with thr re-50. I have used it for years.

More and more people are actually using shotgun mics for voiceover. The sound is incredibly punchy and crisp, allows the talent a bit of freedom of movement, and keeps the mic out of their face.

Not to mention, you can use them on set as well. I'm a big fan off the Sennheiser MKH-416, which is phenomenal on set as an overhead boom and stunning in the studio as well.

B&H is a great place to start, and I've found that your local Guitar Center can often offer you the best price you'll find anywhere, surprising as that may be.
