Obviously a rumor, but an interesting one. This will make it the longest update from the release of the previous one.

1. OS 10.0, March 2001 (full price).

2. OS 10.1, Sept. 2001 (free upgrade at some places).

3. OS 10.2, Aug./Sept. 2002 (full price).

4. OS 10.3, Sept./Oct. 2003 (full price).

5. OS 10.4, Mar./April 2005 (full price).

6. OS 10.5, either late Spring or fall 2007, according to speculation (full price, I'm guessing).

Not delayed. Instead of passing along the rumors someone actually bothered to call apple and ask them what's up.

Apple says spring release is on track.

I love it when someone actually RESEARCHES a story vs. going on rumors.

That story about an un-named source at Apple might be a rumor also :-)

Jupiter Research analyst Michael Gartenberg said an Apple source indicated to him that the company is on track to deliver Leopard this spring.

An Apple spokeswoman declined to comment, noting only that the company previously announced the operating system would be released in the spring.

When it comes to guessing what Apple's up to, rumors are really all you have to go by since they hardly ever make public comments about unreleased products. But that's why we have Area 51. :-)

I hope it's spring, being waiting since late last year for the release.
