I've just got my iMac 24" 2.16 machine and wonder if upgrading to 3Gb RAm is worth it or is 2 fine? Will it make any difference in render times etc? I'm using a bunch of fire wire drives for video.

I'm planning on buying Final Cut Express HD upgrade but I like to shoot 25F on my Canon XH A1. Most of my output is for web streaming (and archive for later use) and 25F seems to give excellent results when sized down to 720 x pixels without being de-interlaced. What I am not able to figure is the ability of FC HD express to work with 25F...

The full Final Cut is not impossible for me to buy but the difference could be used by wifey for domestic stuff!

Cheers!

:)

I have no complaints about FCP's performance with 2Gb of RAM. It would surprise me if it is appreciably faster with 3.

Best wishes,
Peter
