I've got an interview in which strips of sunlight were on the interviewees face, producing an effect that was a tad harsher than appeared at the time. I'd like to significantly tone down the highlights on this - does anyone know a good program that allows fine control of specific sections of luminance? Is this a feature of the new Color Correction program in FCS2?
Thanks
Greg

You can do it in the 3-way CC.

Limit the range to the highlights. Blur/smooth that selection with the two sliders on the very very bottom in the limit range area.

Drop the highlight slider down, under the third color wheel.

In fact you have slightly more control in FCP. This will take time to render though!!

Thanks Glenn; which version of FCP are you using? I don't have a "limit range" marked on my 3 way CC filter.

It's been the same way since FCP... 3 I think.

There's a limit range area... to the left of it is a little triangle. Click the triangle.

Wow, thanks Glenn - I didn't even see that on the graphical interface to the 3-way CC.
