24BIT Audio Cameras

seeing that the red is recording at 24bit audio. do you see seperate recorders going away soon, or will the audio only recorders always rule in audio preamp quality

The upcoming Convergent-Design Flash XDR will be able to record audio in either 16-bit or 24 bit format.

I don't think separate audio mixing will ever go away completely, but it's not because of pre-amp quality. It's because a dedicated person to mix audio will always be preferable for highest quality audio work, which, by its very nature requires an outboard mixer.
