Sony and Canon press conference dates confirmed. New sony a750 a850 and a950

I received a confirmation on the Canon and Sony press events scheduled for this month:

Canon: August 19th, 2009
Sony: August 28th, 2009 (previously reported as August 27th – it could be because of the time difference).

Sony keeps leaking – now we also have A750, A850, A950
is this some kind of a sick joke? Now we have even more new Sony DSLR leaks: α750, α850 and α950 - this screenshot was taken from the Sony Asia Pacific support site
and the rumor that goes with the picture:

Sony A950 with backlit 24.6Mp Exmor sensor @ $2999.95
Sony A850 with 24.6 Mp @ $1999.95
Sony A750 with 14MP backlit sensor @ $1200.00

I'll believe it when I see it.

All of these things so far seem to be wild rumors because someone found a drop down menu with a model # they didn't recognize...

I do believe that there should be some announcements within days, but until there's a REAL official Sony release, I don't think the rumour mill spew is anything more than speculation...

I only hope they release something with the "R" sensor (two new compact cameras announced today by sony have the "R", so MAYBE), and a good video capability, so I can use my nice Minolta glass...

It would be nice to see Sony join the DSLR-V game.

And now that the actual press releases are OUT, NO "750", NO "950" - this is why "rumours" if any belong in "area 51", as the levels of inaccurate information really don't serve any purpose.

Please pass the Katsup, got to choke down some unidentifiable bird like substance with the EPIC FAIL of Sony to join the DSLR-V ranks... sigh. Even more amazing is that the "R" sensor appears to have missed the boat too.

I'm scratching my head how one of the biggest camera companies in the world could drop the ball so completely... the HX1 was promising, albeit a compact point and shoot, yet the "serious" cameras can't even match it feature for feature on many counts...
